The first four films from the hugely popular 'Carry On' series. In
'Carry On Sergeant' (1958), a sergeant (William Hartnell) takes a
bet that the last recruits he trains will win the 'Star Squad'
award. The sergeant's inept young charges include Bob Monkhouse,
Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey and Kenneth Connor. In 'Carry On
Teacher' (1959), trouble erupts at a secondary school when
inspectors arrive to evaluate the teachers' work. A group of pupils
(led by a youthful Richard O'Sullivan) who don't want their teacher
transferred to a different job play up. In 'Carry On Nurse' (1959),
the patients in a men's hospital ward decide to revolt against the
staff, as led by the indomitable Matron (Hattie Jacques). Finally,
in 'Carry On Constable' (1959), police sergeant Wilkins (Sid James)
has a new batch of dubious recruits on his hands, whose idea of
covert surveillance involves dressing up in drag.
Sid James triple. In 'The Big Job' (1965), a gang of hapless crooks
successfully perpetrate a robbery only to be caught after the fact.
Fifteen years later they emerge from prison intent on retrieving
their stolen loot - and discover that a police station has been
built over its hiding place. Sylvia Syms, Dick Emery, Jim Dale and
Joan Sims co-star. In 'Make Mine a Milluion' (1959), an ad-man
teams up with a make-up artist in a cunning plot to advertise Bonko
detergent on non-commercial television. Despite the trouble it
causes, the plan proves a great success and the two chaps soon set
up a pirate television station with the intention of beaming their
advertisements into other company's TV shows. Again the idea proves
successful - but just how long can these two go on avoiding their
come-uppance? 'The Lavender Hill Mob' (1951) is a classic Ealing
comedy. Nobody would ever suspect gold bullion delivery man Henry
Holland (Alec Guinness) of anything other than total devotion to
his job. However, with the aid of fellow lodger Pendlebury (Stanley
Holloway), he gathers together a gang to carry out a heist,
intending to smuggle the gold out of the country by melting it down
into miniature models of the Eiffel Tower. All goes well until the
consignment of models becomes muddled up with another, non-golden
batch. Watch out for an early cameo by Audrey Hepburn.

S.T.E.N.C.H. obtaining a secret formula. Master spies on the case

Barrie). In 'Carry On Screaming' (1966), detective Bung (Harry H.
Corbett) investigates a mad professor (Williams) and his sister,
who are turning their victims into shop window dummies. Finally, in

sanitary engineer, becomes the sheriff of Stodge City in the Wild

Tony Hancock stars with Sid James and Kenneth Williams in the
legendary BBC Radio comedy series. Created by Ray Galton and Alan
Simpson in 1954, Hancock's Half Hour was the radio vehicle that
made Tony Hancock a household name. Each week listeners would be
admitted to the sometimes fantastical, sometimes mundane life of
"the lad 'imself". Aided and abetted by Sid James, Andree Melly,
Bill Kerr and Kenneth Williams, Hancock would enter into the spirit
of each episode with characteristic dolefulness. This collection of
10 episodes represents the surviving archive from the third radio
series, along with PDF booklets featuring episode guides, series
notes, cast biographies and specially written introductions by
Galton and Simpson. Also included are two radio documentaries about
Tony Hancock: Stone Me, What a Life! and The Complete and Utter
History of Hancock. The episodes included are The Pet Dog; The
Jewel Robbery; The Bequest; The Blackboard Jungle; The Diet;
Hancock's Heir; The Student Prince; The Greyhound Track; The
Conjurer and The Test Match.
